2013 Cruze LT A/T MPG = M/T MPG?

Both EPA estimatesand Fuelly stats show similar MPG for the 2012 and 2013 Cruze A/T or M/T: 26 city, 38 highway.

Does anyone have any input on this? Does the A/T new gear ratio really make it even with a M/T?
