My name is Richard. Picked up a new 2013 Cruze LT1 a few weeks ago. It's white with a charcoal interior. It has some nice extras, the RS Package, 7 Inch Touch Screen with My Link and Nav and some other extras that I can't think of right now.
My previous car was a 2010 Malibu LT2, but it got destroyed in the Hurricane. I like the 2013 Malibu, but I didn't want such a big car, I wanted to save some money on the cost of the car, and I wanted a more fuel efficient car although the Malibu I had did pretty good with gas unless it was pure city driving.
My only complaints so far are as follows:
1. The Non-Existent center armrest - I guess they did this because of the Parking Brake Location. If it were the foot type parking brake or the electronic parking brake that the new Malibu has, they would have been able to provide a normal sized armrest. I'm assuming that since the Cruze comes with a manual transmission as well, they provided this type of parking brake.
2. The seats are not too comfortable. Not enough cushion or support. But I like the seating position. It's pretty roomy for a compact car.
3. The Turbo Charged Engine. I really didn't want a Turbo. I asked the salesman if my car had a turbo and he said no, it's an extra. Shows how much they know about the cars they sell. It was only after I got the car that I realized that it had a turbo. Only the LS doesn't have the Turbo. The horsepower is pretty low for a Turbo, but the torque is pretty good. The non-Turbo engine on the LS has the same horsepower. I would have figured that a Turbo would have upped the HP more than 138. They should have added direct injection, then they wouldn't have to include a turbo. I did read that the 1.4 Liter Engine got good reviews. I do find it to be a very smooth engine and there's virtually no turbo lag.
4. No Trunk Release - I know there's a release outside of the car, but I would prefer the standard trunk release button inside of the car.
There are a lot of things I like about the car. I will list those in another post.
