These are two of my personal records for avg mpg and distance. The cruze I drive is more then capable of higher mpg avgs unfortunately I am limited by my terrain. I have 2500ft climb over 20 miles from 3000ft elevation to 5500ft which obviously is a disadvantage because I spend more fuel climbing the mountain then I save coming back down it. The rest of the terrain is flat and im able to maintain equal distance speeds of 63 and 53mph for a 58mph avg over the 625 miles. This spring and summer I should be able to average these same numbers between 56 and 59mpg on a daily basis over 350 miles. I think a 60 mpg avg is my limit for this route but definitely not the limit for the cruze eco. Phillips/Conoco 87 non ethanol only, Mobil1 extended perfomance, 40-41psi, 112k miles and 6th gear all the way.
The cruze I drive after all these miles in terms of the engine I can just feel how smooth and well oiled this machine has become. The engine I feel has really started to operate at such an efficient level and I think its better now after all these miles. Hopefully and I have my fingers crossed the engine will be able to maintain this optimal or peak performance another couple hundred thousand miles. As far as the transmission once the oil has a chance to warm up the shifting is very fluid.
Im not posting this for show I drive the same eco as everyone else instead im posting it for tell.
