So after procrastinating, I finally installed my GM lip spoiler.
Painted was a hair over $100 shipped :-)
So it was not too difficult, but I would say you need some experience and a steady hand. I also did it by myself, so a couple steps took a bit longer.
Put the foam seal on the inside (bottom) of the spoiler, be very steady.
They give you special plastic pieces with a guide hole so you put them into the screw holes under the spoler, line up the spoiler horizontally and tape down the tabs that stick out from the spoiler.
Use plenty of tape as the guide plugs stick in the spoiler when you lift it off the trunk lid after securing tabs with tape.
Remove carpeting inside trunk lid
Drill through the guides, steadily with a 1/8" bit.
Remove guide tabs from top of trunk
Then drill through the pilots with a 5/16, be steady.
Open trunk, look through bottom at the holes you just made
Bring the spoiler into position and look underneath to make sure holes are lined up
WD-40 the holes to prevent rust
Put in the bolts and secure, then put rubber caps over screws
Put carpeting back
Make sure there is no extra foam stripping sticking out from under the spoiler while secured snugly
Make sure your drill is strong enough. I bought a cheapo cordless, made sure it was 18v, and it locked up a couple times. Just back out and continue.
I did NOT like drilling into my trunk, and only one of my holes was a little off and the screw took some effort to get in, but with patience it paid off.
I hope this helps any that try this. Should be pretty standard procedure for other spoilers. With me shuffling around and making extra sure things went well, about 1.5 hours (and a few cigarettes too :) )
