I was on a trip to Wyoming from the upper peninsula of Michigan. I was about 5 hours into our 20 hour drive and I had went to get back onto the freeway and my car would not accelerate. It just died and wouldn't go, as well as the service traction control with the wrench came on, along with the check engine light. We were able to coast to the side of the road and we just the car off and turned it back on, it was now in limp mode. It's revved high but just wouldn't go. We had it towed as we didn't want any damage to the car. The chevy dealer was not open so we had to make an unexpected stop and spend the night. By morning when we walked to the chevy dealer the check engine light and everything were off. This dealer looked over the car and said it was a relay they switched and we should be good to go. Well we thought great and on our way we went. We made it to Nebraska before it happened again and this time it died in the middle of a intersection and we had to push it out of the way, once again the dealer was closed and this point we needed to rent a car and leave the car in Nebraska to be looked at. This dealer had the car for 3 days and said they found nothing as the check engine light went out again before they looked at the car. We arrived back at the dealer in Nebraska and made our trip home. We made it to Iowa and it happened again this is we were exiting off to get onto another interstate. we almost got hit by a truck. And again we had to spend the night cuz the dealer was not open. Same thing happened with check engine light being out. But his dealer said there was a plug that went to the transmission that they duplicated the problem and couldn't replace the part as it wasn't in stock, so the proceeded to put dielectric grease on it. They said we should be fine to make it home and to bring it in to our home town dealer and have it fixed. Well that's what we did and they said there is NOTHING wrong with it. I do not travel far on a daily bases to have the transmission heat up and feel its not fixed and unsafe. Has anyone else had any issues like this? Even with it shifting bad?
