 Good morning all.

I'm new here on the forum and decided I might need some friends, or just some friendly information / ideas / suggestions, at some time.

I have a 2014 Cruze Diesel that was delivered around the end of August. It's Black Granite with a black gut and equipped with everything BUT the sun roof. I HATE sun roofs. It has the "Enhanced Safety Package" which I didn't particularly want but everything else I wanted was there so I took it. I actually do like the blind spot feature on the mirrors. The rear view camera, not so much. I am a SSC (sexy senior citizen) living in FL so with exactly 108 miles on the odo I left for NY to visit family. 1208 miles to Albany, NY, some running around here and there, then to Long Island to see some more family then home to FL. Total mileage around 2750 miles. At one point during the trip I was averaging, an indicated, 43 MPG. So far, with a total of 3025 miles on the car, I am averaging 39.8 MPG. Color me happy! I've had quite a progression of small Chevys in the last 5 years starting with a 08 Cobalt SS Sedan with all the bolt ons, GM tune and a Trifecta aftermarket tune. Loved the car but I finally realized I was in denile about my age and wanted creature comforts instead of performance. I still have all the boltons, by the way, if somebody wants them. Next was a 2012 Cruze LTZ. Loved the car but when the rumored diesel actually materialized I just had to have one. I'm glad I did. Maybe it's just my imagination but this car seems to ride and handle better than the LTZ. It's definitely quieter on the inside than the LTZ at speed. It's just, generally, a nicer, more comfortable car to ride in.

Having said all that I do have 2 complaints about the car. or maybe it's just the way GM optioned the car leaving room for more options in the future. I am at a loss as to why GM elected to NOT include Automatic Temp Control A/C on this car. Not even as an option. The LTZ came standard with it. I kinda got used to, as Ron Popiele would say, "set it and forget it". Then there is the missing push button start feature that was also standard on the LTZ but nowhere to be found on the diesel. Not EVER having to take keys out of your pocket is addictive. WHY GM?? WHY! I can solve the lack of a push button with an aftermarket unit I found. I'm still looking for the ATC conversion.

So that's my story and I'm sticking with it.
