Let's get a thread going on some of the biggest mistakes made during a DIY. No teasing allowed just feel the pain and maybe learn a thing or two!
1. I was replacing the head gasket on my civic and I couldn't get the spring bolts to compress enough to reattach the exhaust. So I decided to use a jack to raise the exhaust enough to put the nuts on. Well when I finally took it out for a drive I realized I split the catalytic converter at the weld in the process. A 1000 dollar fail!!!!!!!!!!
2. Converting to rear disk I pulled one of the connectors from the wires in an impossible place to reach. Needless to say the ABS light was on until I found a way to finally permanently reattach it.
3. Just recently went to gap my plugs and didn't have the proper tool around and bent one of the electrodes (PITA)
Just a few of my many. Now, GO! :)
