Transaxle swap

Hey guys, Good to meet all of ya. I just bought a 2013 Crystal red Metallic LT last week. I already have a K&N SRI installed, a ZZP DP/ MIdpipe to install this week. Wrapped all my underhood tubing today. Huge difference. Tonight I read about 5 hours and I'm soo not used to these motors. I pulled my plugs tonight and I checked the gap and they were all .020-.025.. so I regapped them all to .035. Test drove. Big difference in performance. I run 94 octane.... I was pleased!
They should of put the 2.0 Verano engine in it. I know I'm not the first person to say that. LOL These are sexy little cars. I painted my wheel covers semi gloss black. I have the GM lip spoiler getting painted gloss black. Just a few exterior mods so I dont blend in. I have already seen another 50 red Cruzes in the last couple weeks like mine. LOL..

Im coming from a 540 hp modded 2003 Z06 so I need all the power the can get out of this for a daily driver to still make it fun to drive. $$ Isn't an object. Im also putting in GM fog lamps. Finally a Vermont tune from Brian this month. Possibly a ZZP IC next year. SOOOOOO someone here must know cause I haven't seen anyone on the net do this. Can I swap in a low mileage 2011 transaxle into my 2013 just because GM did a stupid thing and dropped the final gear ratio in 2012 from 3:87 down to 3:53. Its worth almost a full second 0-60. I have a 2011 trans in my city at the biggest wreckers in town. I got lucky. Its only got 10K on it and I can get it for 600. It should bolt right in and I will keep my new trans bagged in case I break this one. The engines are the same as well from htis wrecked one. Brian at Vermont tuning said he can calibrate the speedo for the deeper final gear ratio. What does anyone think? I'm pretty hardcore. Except I wont take this motor apart and spend 300 on the service manuals. lol I hear there might be a larger turbo in the next year or 2. Funny how there is only one more cuurent model year (2014) before the Cruze gets refreshed for 2015. Probably get the bigger motor. Id like a coupe but will keep mine for hopefully 4-5 years. They are fun little cars. Nice interior. Haven't owned a post bankrupt GM vehicle. lol

Glad to be here in the biggest Cruze forum where there seem to be knowledgeable guys!

Cheers everyone

Derek :)
