Frozen key??

Odd thing happened today.. It was the coldest morning 9° so far in NJ today. Went out to clean the snow off the cars and driveway. I started my Cruze like normal let it run some to melt some snow moved the car over and continued with cleaning the driveway. I had the FOB in my front jacket pocket and when I returned to my car about 40 minutes later I couldn't open the door, remote start or any FOB features. I put the key inside the house to warm up about 15 minutes and when I tried it again everything was back to normal. Anyone else experience something like this?
