Hello guys (and gals)!

Just picked up a used 2012 Cruze LT (white). It was a former rental from Hertz w/ 36k miles. I was concerned about purchasing a former rental, but had a full inspection done at my local Chevy dealership before purchasing... and it turned out to be in great condition according to my service guy. New brakes, good tread on tires, transmission is great, no service codes. Only recommendation was for a new air filter.

Exterior is good, with a minor ding on my driver door and a small paint scrape on the bumper passenger side that I plan on touching up. Interior is great, but the chrome on my door handle is beginning to peel off. Going to have that replaced, but if it's too much $, I'll probably just plasti-dip all 4.

I'm coming from a 2012 Optima Turbo (forced to sell, need $)... and was disappointed to see it go. I knew I was going to an economy car, and therefore losing the power I had from that 2.0l Turbo. Well, I must admit, the Cruze makes me feel much better. Fun car to drive and actually handles better than the Kia model I had (EX). MPG on the Kia was far overrated in my opinion, as I was only getting about 19-21 MPG with mixed driving (though I did have upgraded wheels, which caused me to lose a little bit). I hope the Cruze lives up to its rating and from what I read, it's positive.

So while I had concerns about purchasing a former rental, it looks like it was a smart purchase (so far). For the price, I think it's a great deal ($12.9k). I had test drove a 2012 Focus (a former rental too) at a local dealer and it did not compare to the Cruze. It drove like ****, and the car stuttered and shook going from 1st to 2nd. Suspension was shot. I don't understand the raving reviews for the Focus, but that one could have been a lemon/needed repairs.
