I for one am not gonna give up Touring just because there is snow on the ground.
This year i picked up a set of Michelen X-ICE Xi3. The price was good and it meets my typical driving conditions.
So far they are amazing, high speed traction, ripping by people doing 80 Mph on the highways when everyone else is doing 50. Hard WOT Pulls in 3rd gear on snow.
Remember don't drive beyond a tires limits. There is no magic, If the ice on the roads are as smooth as a skating rink your high speed runs are still gonna be 45-60 MPH straights and 30-45 MPH on the sweepers.
Whether on the track or on the way to work. A DNF (did not finish) Is far more worse then not making the podium.
Drive Safe!
This should help chose between many brands and line-ups (To enlarge: right click, view image)
