I just had new tires put on my 2014 Chevy Cruze at my local Tires Plus store and when I started up the car to leave the Service Power Steering and Service Stabiltrak warnings appeared immediately on my dash. Turned off the car and went immediately back into the Tires Plus store and informed them of the issue. I was told by two young guys to take it my Chevy dealer to have the codes reset. This strikes me as odd that they cannot take care of this because then everyone they install tires for will need to make an extra trip to a dealership after getting new tires. Not good business practice. I just need to know if they giving me the right advice or did they forget to do something after installing the tires?

Diesel vs LTZ
Was talking to my wife about this the other day (she brought it up), and I couldn't remember if there was ever a thread with a straight answer.
The Diesel was supposed to be the range-topping trim level, correct? So...why did the LTZ get certain features the Diesel did not? Most importantly - push-button start...
Anybody have any ideas/insight/insider info?

Multiple Sensor failures
My 2012 chevy cruze check engine light came on with multiple failures P0335, P0597, P0806, and P16f3. My question is why would everything fail at once.

New to the forum
Hi, I am new to this forum, and I am hoping to learn a few things about the Cruze while I'm here. At the moment I drive a 2014 Mustang V6 Full bolt-on aprox 295 rwhp, 285 tq, as fun as my car has been to drive, due to car payment, insurance, and gas costs, I have decided that I am going to downgrade to a sedan of some sort. The ones I am looking at so far are the Chevy Cruze 2lt 1.4 turbo, or Dodge Dart limited 1.4 turbo. I am not here to start a discussion about which is better, as I have done some lurking on both forums so far, and they both have their pros and cons from what I have gathered, I am more interested in the availability and quality of mods available for each platform. I fully understand that these cars are not sports cars like I am used to having, but even so I will probably install the minor bolt-ons such as exhaust, tune, cai, and upgraded turbo components if needed. I am unfamiliar with this platform, so I am not sure what the capabilities are, but I would like to see close to 200hp and torque if possible, without causing too much stress on the internals. I appreciate as much help as you all are willing to give, and yes I do know how to use the search bar XD.

Engine reduced power and smoking
Previous post on DPF full limp mode. Car back at dealer. Had done 3 regens last week. soot at 77, said they brought back down to 21. Took car down road about 4 miles and got reduced power light again and lot of black smoke. Brought it on home and drained the diesel out and replaced with Exxon diesel. Returned to dealer. They did two more manual regens. Told them to take it out for test drive before I come pick it up. Same thing happened to tech, loaded up, sputtering, and smoking. Said getting all kinds of error codes. They are uncertain where to go next. I had put some Sea Foam in fuel when I thought it was bad fuel. Would this have caused some additional problems? The black smoke coming out exhaust is new concern, may be coincidental. At 158000 miles is it still necessary to only use dexos 5w-30 oil? Seems like oil is getting into exhaust, and I am seeing oily residue around Turbo. Think the Turbo seal may be best place to start looking? After all this soot and re-gens are all the sensors able to get cleared of soot and oil so they work correctly, or do you think I will be looking at replacement of them too?
Sorry for all questions. Not feeling too good about skill level of dealership and I am a long way from any other ones. Think they need all the help I can find.
Definitely want to get that scanguage II, and have sent inquiry in to be sure it is set up from my Cruze diesel

New Cruze owner - sun visor and paint question
Hello all. Yesterday I purchased a 2012 LTZ/RS for my daughter and soon realized that the passenger side vanity mirror cover was missing which in turn kept the mirror lights from coming on. Will replacing the cover alone fix the problem or do I need to replace the entire visor? Also, I was looking for some touch up paint in order to fix some small scratches but could not find the paint code in the glove box (sticker was there but, no code next to BC/CC). The car is a metallic black - any idea if the Carbon Flash color would work?
Thanks for the help!

2012 Cruze 4 oil leaks to date
Hello,
I have had 4 oil leaks to date. 2 head gasket and one was rocker cover gasket. The 4th one the dealership said they believe it was the coming from somewhere around the oil filter. I now notice a ticking and fluttering in the engine. Has anyone else had these problems? They have put dye in the engine to see if there are more leaks. I am not sure what my next step should be as I believe these leaks have caused damage within the motor.
Thanks
Sam

2016/17 OEM "sporty" spoiler
Decided to purchase the GM sport spoiler for my 2016 LT.
Turned out pretty well.

Got it for $190, installed for $65.
Now if GM could only get that fog light kit out.

2012 automatic chevy cruze lt slow start?
I had just bought my chevy cruze July 1st this year with 80000 miles on it, it's my first car. The first week I got it the stability stabilitrack light and traction control light came on. Not only that but the breaks would squeak and the car was slow to go when I push on the gas. It's fine after like 25 or 30 mph but as soon as I stop anywhere it is slow to startup again. It sucks merging on the freeway because you have to try and speed up. The only way I can explain it better is that it feels like the car is trying to hard to get going, but once it's going it's perfectly fine. So I take it back to the dealership that week (I bought it at a toyota/scion dealership) and told the service department everything wrong with the car. They changed a spark plug and said the brakes were fine they probably have dust on them. They told me they didn't see anything wrong with the acceleration but if it still happened I probably would have to be referred to a GM service place? So I haven't had any problems with the traction control light or the stability light but the squeaky breaks and acceleration is still a problem. I called the dealership yesterday and the person who answered the phone was terribly rude. I'm so stuck, I don't know what to do. If I take it to the dealer I have to pay a deductible which I feel I shouldn't because these problems are still happening after the service person said they were fine. I don't want to be out 250 bucks! What do you guys think?

Looking to add subwoofers to my Cruze
I was wondering if the factory stereo in a 2012 LTZ se has the correct outputs for subwoofers or if I would have to get an aftermarket head unit. I've owned 2 cars pre-2000's and this is completely different from what I've dealt with. I'm looking to bring my current setup of two DC Audio Lvl 2 12's into my new cruze but I'm not sure how to get started.
Thanks in advance guys. I'll do more research after work.

2016 Gen 2 HVAC Update Flash
We own a gen 2 2016 Cruze Premier Automatic (loaded). We purchase the vehicle in April of 2016. Without checking the VIN, I'd guess it was made during the beginning of the production run.
A crazy thing happened just after we had the battery terminal recall issue taken care of and VOR label stickers installed at the dealer. While driving home my wife and I began to notice the A/C was not keeping us cool (85 degrees F outside). We observed very little air flow from the dash panel vents and the air was not even cool. Additionally, the seat heaters came on even though the seat heater button indicator lights were not illuminated.
The HVAC was in auto mode and the temperature set to 72 where we normally keep it. As a countermeasure, we set the temperature to "Lo" and turned up the blower speed manually. That helped but it was still too warm in the car. I pulled into a nearby parking lot, shut off the engine and noticed the HVAC blower was still running. After opening the driver side door, the HVAC blower finally turned off.
We turned around and went back to the dealer. Our dealer's resident expert technician observed and confirmed the issue and said we probably needed a new flash. We made a service appointment for the soonest possible date.
The result was that the technician found an update for the HVAC module and flashed it. Today, my wife reports the HVAC is back to normal and working well.

2014 Cruze diesel DPF error
Hi everyone I'm new to this site and the whole forum thing as well. I need some advice. I have a 2014 Cruze diesel and bought it new. At 28000 Klm upon start up I had a message come on stating diesel particular full followed by a CEL then advising engine power reduced. I had no prior warning that the particular filter was full or close to or advising me to drive the vehicle which I was told it does this. My average drive at the time was 200 Klm per day 100 Klm one way all highway average speed 115-120 Klm/p/h which in my understanding should be purging the system. I took it to the dealer they changed an 02 sensor and flashed the ECM by the way took 2 weeks to get parts. Less than 1 year later and 10000klm more the exact same thing I start the car the information centre says diesel particular filter full CEL comes on and says engine power reduced again no prior warning my commute has changed I now do the 100klm one way drive and 100klm back once a week. I took it to the dealer and they advised me that the vehicle requires a manual Regeneration of the DPF system not covered by my warranty? I tried to tell them that I get no prior warning of this no message to continue driving or that it's almost full and that my driving habits wouldn't contribute to needing this done as it should be done on my drive as I meet all the requirements for it to perform it automatically. They wanted to charge me $320.00 to have this done even though the vehicle is less than 2 years old with only 38000klm on it. Has anyone else experienced this problem any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Climate Controls
So using the climate controls today in my 2012 Cruze LT I noticed air continues to come out of the vents after I turn the fan off. Also the button with the chair and arrow pointing to the head for the dash vents the light stays on. How do I turn that off? I tried pushing that button to see if it would turn off but does not.

first day of Cruze diesel ownership, first CEL
Bought a used '14 cruze TD yesterday. 27,xxx miles. Good shape. Drove it about 100 miles yesterday. Fired it up today and CEL is on. Called dealership to report issue (75 miles to that dealership). Took to local dealership. NOX#2 sensor needs to be replaced. Awesome. Glad it's covered under B2B warranty.
Have now read about a fuel trim software update and MULTIPLE sensor issues. Hope this wasn't a bad move.

traction cntr off w/ donut spare?
Hi I was wondering if Im right in thinking if we need to use the donut compact spare we should turn traction control button to off? I assume dummy lights tire sensors etc will be on too?
And ive read we must only run it on back tires since fwd and disc brakes etc? What a hassle but will do, if ness.
thanks for input.

Outraged by Dealer Parts Counter Price Quote
I called my dealership and asked for a price check on a part. It is the front right wheel well liner that I need, as mine has a sizable crack in it and I don't want water/debris from the road making it up into the engine bay.
$150!!!
... for a piece of plastic.
Unreal.
