first gear transmission whine

$

I recently bought a 2014 cruze diesel with under 20,000 miles on it. I notice that there is some transmission whine in first gear and during the shift into second gear, but the noise stops once the shift into second gear is completed. I also don't hear it in other gears.

I can't tell if that's typical for this transmission or if it's cause for further investigation.

I searched and couldnt find the answer. But, does the Cruze 6 speed manual have an oil gallery test port? I want to add a oil pressure gauge and this is one of the ways to install the sensor. Thanks. :)

Need help with plastidipping emblems.

I am trying to plastidip the emblems on my car (cause I'm a sucker for making things look faster than they are) I am having trouble getting the bowtie on the back right, everytime I plastidip it (3-4 coats) and go to peel, the dip exposes parts of the chrome part. the yellow inner part of the bowtie is doing fine and the dip is doing great at tearing at the gap between the outer, and inner parts, but i can't seem to get the dip to stop peeling off the chrome when I attempt to remove the masking tape and peel any extra that may have got on the car. any help is greatly appreciated

Does anyone know how to take the factory shift knob off to replace it? Please and Thank you for any help.

After market HU with Factory Screen Issues

Hello, new to posting on these forums but I often seek out solutions here. I've read a lot of people with a lot of different situations but nothing exactly like what I'm dealing with. So I have a 2011 LTZ with the Pioneer System, no Nav. I bought a HU that would give me Nav and BT Audio Streaming. I have a friend in the business so I had a local shop do the install. They originally did an RP5 module that was supposed to retain everything. Came out with no signal lights, no climate controls, no back up sensors, no factory color screen. Frustrated I was told that nothing would work and I'd need a line converter to keep my subs but no deck. Unhappy with that I seeked out another option. Stumbled across the GMOS-045. Doesn't specifically say that it retains back up sensors but it says it does everything else. I ordered it along with the SWC harness. Had the local shop do the install again. No factory color screen, no voice/call controls on my steering wheel and no back up sensors. I ripped it all apart myself and looked into exactly what was what. After a few hours of trying a few different things I was still unable to get those features functioning. I see a lot of people with working color screens who say they're using the GMOS-044 which doesn't even say it retains the screen. Any specific advice as to how to get my screen working, my audio/call steering wheel button working, and my back up sensors working. From what I can tell, the color screen isn't getting power, the back up sensors I am lost and the SWC I think was just a faulty programming set up. Thanks in advance!!
BTW, I am using a Kenwood DNX771HD deck, the ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Controls and the GMOS-045.

2016 15'' Wheel cover on 2013 Cruze LTZ

Hello,

In the winter I put snow tires onto my Cruze, which means the rims get replaced with 15'' steel ones in the winter (X43557 rims to be exact). The problem is that the the bolts, nuts and rims are getting very rusty looking and it looks really bad. So I want to put a wheel cover over-top. I hate the after market wheel covers, so I would like to get the actual Chevy ones (I know they are a bit more). The funny thing is that the 1st gen Cruzes take a 16'' wheel cover. The 2016's take a 15''. My steel rims are 15''. The hubcaps are only $20 each on eBay.

So my question, can the 2016 15'' wheel covers (or hubcaps), go on standard 15'' steel rims? Or is the bolt pattern for the 2016 Cruze different than the 2013. Originally these winter tires were on my 94 Mustang and when I transferred them to the Cruze I had to get new rims (I think because of the bolt pattern, even though they both had five bolts). So Ford and Chevy must have different patterns.

Getting time to replace the 2014 Eco MT tires, a little over 36k miles. The cs3 say lower rolling resistance, but they do not make the claims Goodyear does.

Wondering if anyone has tried the cs3 tires on their eco, and noticed effect on mpg.

Thanks!

No manual - No diesel hatchback...??

Chevrolet for 2017: What's New – Feature – Car and Driver

Cruze: Fully revised last year, the Cruze sedan is joined by a hatchback for the first time in the U.S., while the Cruze Diesel model returns to the lineup—but only in the sedan. The hatchback shares its 153-hp turbo four and six-speed manual and automatic transmission options with the sedan, but Chevrolet promises that the wagonoid Cruze will be tuned for more driving fun than the comfort-*minded sedan. An independent rear suspension, which replaces the four-door’s twist-beam rear axle, should help deliver on the fun goal. Cargo space is the hatch’s strong suit, with 19 cubic feet of volume behind the rear seats or 47 cubic feet with the second row folded. The diesel features an all-new 1.6-liter oil-burning four in place of its predecessor’s 2.0-liter, mated exclusively to a six-speed automatic.

My Fuel Report

After fueling my Cruze with Marathon gas (regular) with 52mpg remaining in the tank I logged 448 miles.

And after fueling the Cruze on my next fill-up with Holiday gas (midgrade) and is Top Tier, with 52mpg remaining in the tank I logged 483 miles.

The difference in mileage is negligible between regular unleaded and Top Tier midgrade. The results could be the gas or how I was driving. Thoughts?

check engine light is on when the key is in on/run position, 2012 eco manual

$

Hi.

I have been with the forum for 3+ years. Now I have lost my password, I have my email address. Is it

possible to retrieve my old password? I have the old passwork as 9 character word with only letters and

numbers. I have registered a new account and when I was setting up the password, the site required a 10

character with capital letter, number, and symbol. I think this is the reason my old identity dose not

work out here.

Thanks.

Dan.

Also, I have a 2012 cruze eco, when I first put my key into the slot, my key will go through position A,

stopping the engine; position B, accessory, C on/run, and D start. If I do not go to D and stay on C

(on/run) then my seat belt light and check engine light stay on. If I put the seat belt in, then the seat

belt light will go off. However, my check engine light will stay on if my key is in C (on/run) position.

Is it normal? if I briefly go to position D, start my car and drive the car, then the check engine light

goes off.

Summary, the check engine light stays when the key is in position C (on/run), the check engine light goes

off, if start the car through position D

2012 Cruze issue

I have a 2012 Cruz LT with 62k on it. I bought it 2 and a half years ago and didn't have any problems up until about 6 months ago. After driving around town one night my car seemed to be ideling very rough and by the time I got home it was so rough that my car was shaking back and forth and you could see my lights go up and down in the distance. Then the check engine light came on. After doing research we found it was a common concern with the PCV valve. We replaced the PCV valve and my car was running perfectly fine again!

About 4 months after this, I noticed a jolting almost shrugging feeling as I was driving. It usually only happened when I was driving on the hwy and speed up. As my car down shifted it would stutter and then catch itself and start to speed up as I intended it to do. It seemed that I was the only one that thought there was an issue since everyone that would ride in the car with me didn't feel this.

I took my car on trip that was in total 6 hours of driving. This is when it started to get really bad. As I would speed up and sometimes even let off the gas to slow down my car gave 2-4 jolts/ shrugging/ stuttering feeling as it down shifts. A little worried at this point. On the way back from my trip I had someone else drive it, he noticed it as well. He tested this by driving under 30 Mph then speed up. The stuttering was very intense making him feel he needed to let off the gas so that car wouldn't brake all together!

After that the check engine light and stabilitrack light came on. After we turned the car off and then back on the lights went away. Ended up driving my car back at this point 4 hours left in my drive with the traction control and stabilitrack off. This seemed to help and I cruised the whole way home at about 75Mph. The only issue I had was the Inisial faint stutter I had mentioned before. No lights came on the dash after I got home.

I have read multiple posts where people say the same issues but it's always companied by their radios and A/C going out as well. Also, mentioning they have lost all power (brakes and gas) which I have not yet experienced.

Has anyone had this same issue? I have yet to take it to Chevy as this is a recent occurrence and have not had a chance but I am worried it will get worse!

Hey guys, so im new to this whole forums thing and I need some help asap. I recently purchased a 2011 cruze Eco, and I just hit 70K miles. My problem is that my radio is completely dead, my passenger side front turn signal isn't working, but the left one wirks just fine. Also, my left rear tail light isn't working. So I thought, whatever no big deal the globes are burned out. So I put brand new globes all the way around and still having the same issues. Also I tested all the fuses and relays with my voltmeter and also with a relay tester. Everything checks out fine which causes me to believe that the BCM is toasted. Any thoughts before I take it to the dealer?? Thanks.

Anyone watching? The show's called Better Late Than Never. It looks like it normally airs on Tuesdays on NBC.

Those who are Star Trek TOS or fans of one the above guys might like this "reality show". It's a sort of a travel show but reminds me a bit of An Idiot Abroad along w/bits of Bizarre Foods in there.

YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqf...AAW4Q/featured.

These will give you an idea of what the show's about:
'Better Late than Never' hits the road with senior stars - CNN Video

Since I missed ep 1, I tried the copies on YouTube like the official one at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zD8uPUtTEK4 and some others I found. They're all terrible, possibly intentionally.

They end up only showing the video in a small portion of the entire screen/video window w/a vignetting effect (dark around the edges) and the audio is of poor quality. It was that way via the YouTube app on my Roku 3 and just as bad casting to Chromecast.

Ended up watching some of it via NBC's iPad app. At least it's full screen but you're forced to watch ads.

I've set a season pass for this show on my TiVo for this show now.
