Possible to tap into someone's blue tooth?

Last night I was driving my wife's car(2013 Accord) and after passing someone(in not one of the most civil ways of doing so) they pulled along side of me and all of a sudden the radio in the car started going haywire kinda like it was trying to connect to Bluetooth.
My phone was in my pocket and I have never connected to her BT. Is it possible that he was messing with me and trying to connect to the one in her car?

2017 Cruze Diesel Invoices

I received four original invoices for the diesel Cruze today.

First one is kinetic blue (a $395 paint) with no packages and the 9 speed auto- Total price including destination $26,665. Ship weight is 3093.

Second is graphite metallic, 9 speed, and has the leather package which includes leather wrapped steering wheel, leather seats, 4 way manual adjust passenger seat, and heated steering wheel- Total price including destination is $27,395. Ship weight is 3108.

Third is tungsten metallic, 9 speed, has dealer installed splash guards, has the leather package, and has the driver confidence sun and sound package. That package includes rear park assist, rear cross traffic alert, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, the tech package with the 8" color mylink audio system, multi-color driver instrument info enhanced display, 9-speaker bose audio system, and the power sunroof. Total price including destination is $29,825. Ship weight 3153.

Fourth is tungsten metallic, 6 speed with no packages- Total price including destination is $24,670. Ship weight is 3011.

Currently the most expensive diesel Cruze you can buy is $30,260 including destination. That has the 9 speed auto, premium paint, the leather package, confidence sun and sound package, and splash guards and a front license plate bracket.

The cheapest is the 6 speed with no packages, at $24,670.

The leather package is $1,125.
The driver confidence w/ sun and sound package is $2,260.
Splash guards are $170.
Front plate bracket is $40.

Also worth noting, while you can get the leather package with the manual, you can NOT get the driver confidence w/ sun and sound package with the manual. The most expensive manual you can get is $26,400 and would have the leather package, premium paint, splash guards, and front plate bracket.

tldr;

2017 Diesel Cruze prices range from $24,670 to $30,260.

2011 Diesel 2L 120kw LTZ - Strange idle RPM issue

$

What troubles me is another problem:

  • Drive the car for a while
  • Press clutch and break (for example on red light, doesn't need to be fast breaking)
  • Engine RPM will be dropping below Idle and jumping up and down between 500-900
  • This will continue until
    • A: Car stops moving (brake can still be pressed)
    • or B: Releasing the brake for longer time while car is still moving

  • Then RPM is stable at idle (pressing the brake when car not moving at idle = IDLE rpm is stable)

At first i thought it is just RPM sensor or "gauge/display" acting up because engine doesn't produce vibrations or sound that would suggest it is close to stalling. But then driving at night i noticed when this is happening the lights intensity is going up and down together with RPMs.

Really baffled by this. I mean it never ever let the engine stall and if not for the "blinking lights" issue i wouldn't even chase the issue.

Another (possibly related?) issue is sometimes current L/100km consumption meter is showing really high consumption and at the same time not showing 0 consumption when going downhill with gear engaged and foot off the throttle. This is however not bothering me so much right now just writing it as it may be related.

What is disappointing is attitude of local GM (Opel/chevy) attitude: I was at GM service here and they told me Cruze in general have problems with keeping idle rpms. It seems like they didn't even want to hear out the details about the problem. As soon as i told the "Idle rpm" they didn't even listen more just kept the it's Cruze just live with it attitude.

Thanks for help

2017 Chevrolet Cruze Owner's Manual

There is a link for the 2017 Owner's Manual, updated as updates are available and free to download. I just had a previous customer of mine call me for a new manual, since they lost theirs in the 2 weeks they've had their car, so I'm sure there will be others. If anybody needs me to email it to them, just shoot me an email.

Installing DiodeDynamics LED License Plate Lights

$

OVERVIEW (TIME REQUIRED: < 1 minute)

I recently received part of my prize for winning Cruze of the Month, a pair of DiodeDynamic LED license plate lights. They make the light much whiter and clearer, and are LED so that's bonus bragging horsepower. They are the same lights the first gen uses, although our cars use a different housing.

TOOLS REQUIRED

A flathead screwdriver, or a flathead drill bit, or anything at all that you can pry with. A popsicle stick would work.

PARTS REQUIRED

One pair of Diode Dynamics LED license plate lights- HP3

PROCEDURE

1) Use a screwdriver or popsicle stick to pry the tab over and pop down the light.

2) Pull the housing down.

3) Twist the housing a quarter turn clockwise and pull the housing off.

4) Yank the bulb out.

5) Insert the LED bulb.

6) Put the housing back on.

7) Clip it in place.

8) Both sides are oriented identically. Enjoy your new lights.

LED on the right.

Need opinions on wheel/tire combo for my 2013 LS Cruze

So I went ahead and got my windows/tail lights tinted awhile back and I love it but now my rims/tires do not match at all and are kind of an eyesore to me personally haha.

My issue is that I can't decide on what specs/offset/bolt pattern will work with my car. From what I've seen 5x105 is the bolt pattern but I'm unsure of what size tire/offset to use for 18" rims.

So if anyone can toss out a suggestion for 18" rims and what tires would work well on them I'd love you forever LOL,

Thank you!

Here are a few pictures of my car so you can get an idea of what the rims would look like on it:

Anyone know how this is supposed to work or what it does? I plugged in a USB stick and it said it couldn't do it and to visit dealer if it continues to not proceed. Is this secretly a way to update the radio?

Another weird Regen phenomenon

The last couple of times I was in a Regen, I was at about 5 grams of soot mass and I shut the car off at that point. I went into a store for no more than 5 minutes tops (probably not even that long) and came back out, started the car, to find the soot grams were at 10. I've never had that happen before, and it's happened the last 2 regens I've had. Anybody else have this happen?

Hello All,

So I'm new here and I'm hoping for some direction. I've got my new Cruze 2016 LT but my kids don't like it because there is no power outlet in back like my 2012. I'm looking for some direction. I'd like to install a dual USB Charging Ports in back. I found this on amazon, but my concern is how to get it installed on the back side of center arm rest/console.

Thought I would post up my girlfriends Cruze. I've been lurking the forums for a few months now. She has a 12 LTZ RS. We have had it for about a year now. It's not a bad little car. It's fully loaded. I've been doing little things to it here and there. So far it has the windows tinted all around 5% rear window and 20% front 12" windshield visor. 8000k bi-xenon hid kit, Sprayed matte silver chevy badges, 4" LED strip " liscense plate bulb replacement".. future plans: possibly an intake and tune to try and wake this thing up a little bit.. I have an 08 Mazdaspeed 3 for myself. It has a few things done to it. So When I drive Cruze its like a whole nother ballgame. But over all I like it.

Tire question for 16" stock rims

$

Hello all. I have a 2016 LT with the RS package and it has the stock rims on it. I like the wheels but I do not like the small tires. Is there another size tire the would look a little "beefier", for lack of a better word, but have the same diameter? I guess if the diameter wasn't that far off I could always have the computer recalibrated to compensate for it. I'm just not sure that I want to go down the new rims road just yet. I think the rims are 16" x 7" if I'm correct. Below is a pic of my Cruze just so everyone understands which OEM wheel I'm talking about.

Thanks in advance for your input.

Lordstown 2017 Hotel Accommodations

Please specify your hotel accommodations in this thread. I know we checked on group rates last year and they weren't all that great.

I just booked all 3 nights at the Motel 6 in Youngstown, OH. I used coupon code CP542764 at checkout, which got me an extra 10% off, for a total of $172 for all 3 nights.

If cost is an issue for some of you, consider asking around here or on our Facebook event to see if someone is willing to split the cost of a double bed room with you as it would be cheaper than getting your own room.

Lordstown 2017 Group Activities

Based on the schedule we have set up already, we are planning on getting to the plant early on Friday to get our tours done. We have two days where we can squeeze in some group activities. I don't expect that everyone will be available for all of these activities, but it will be nice to spend time with fellow members.

We have two days available for extra activities:
Friday evening
Saturday all day
Sunday all day

So far, we have three activities available. Please feel free to make recommendations for other group activities. Naturally, all activities are subject to weather, which we won't know about till we get closer to the date.

- Shooting range - Sunday or Saturday. I'll be there showing up around 10 or 11, and will stay for a few hours, mostly at the trap range.
Address: A&A Shooting Club, 12006 Fenstermaker Rd, Garrettsville, OH 44231

We went here last year and everyone had a really great time, even the Canadians! It's a huge complex with several ranges. I'll have a double barrel side by side 12 gauge that everyone is welcome to use for trap well as a couple of 9mm handguns for anyone who wants to hit up a pistol range. I can teach you how to use them safely.

Cost (cash only):
Pistol Range: $10/hr
Trap Range: $6 per round (25 clays)

I recommend that you get your own ammo before you get to the range. All you need is an ID to shoot. You can find 12 gauge and 9mm at any Walmart. A box of 25 12-gauge shells runs around $5-$6. A 50-round box of 9mm will run you about $15. If you plan to hit the trap range, you'll probably only go through 2-3 boxes before your shoulder tells you it's time to quit.

- Drag racing
- Friday only. Quaker City Motorsports park has a Test & Tune that day. Gates open at 5:00. It can get busy there, so you'll probably get 3 or 4 passes in the entire night. Plenty of time to hang out and talk to other racers though.
Address: Quaker City Motorsports Park: 10225 W South Range Rd, Salem, OH 44460

Cost:
Racers: $20 per car
Spectators: $10 per individual

I've been to this track and it's a lot of fun.

- Drive-In Theater - Friday or Saturday. There are two in this area; Elm Road Triple Drive-In (which we went to a couple years ago), and Skyway Drive-In. Both seem to have concession stands, and the prices are pretty reasonable.

Cost:
General Admission (Elm Road): $9
General Admission (Skyway): $8
Children 5-11 (Elm road): $4
Children 4-11 (Skyway): $4
Any age younger gets in free.

I'll update the drive-in theater once I can call and get show times and available movies.

- Bowling - John, do you remember where we went last year?

Gen 2 tpms sensors are a different frequency than Gen 1

$

I thought I was all set with my winter wheels from my 2012 Cruze and could just slap them on the new hatch, but it turns out I could not program the sensors with my relearn tool. I suspected it might be that the Gen 2 uses a different frequency. A stop at the dealer confirmed this.

Gen 1 sensors operate at 315 Mhz, and Gen 2 sensors operate at 433 Mhz. The Gen 2 tpms sensor part number is 13598773. interestingly enough from what I have read, the gm relearn tool works for either frequency, as the relearn frequency itself is in the 100Khz range.

I have 8 shifter knobs made and on the way if anyone is interested in one. Cost is $52 per shifter knob.

These are 1/8" more narrow and 3/8" shorter than the knob pictured below but otherwise the same style. If you want one, claim it here. Once they're gone, I don't know when I'll be able to have more made.

Forge Blow off Valve

I have an opportunity to purchase a slightly used Forge Blow off Valve for a good price and wondered what benefit it will give me if I install it. Will I need to add other items to garner said benefits?

Thanks in advance for any answers that hopefully help me out. (just trying to head off the wise cracks:grin:)
