ATF fluid change - Just got done

$

Hello,

I have a 2014 chevy cruze lt 1.4t auto trans with 86k on the odo

My manual says a ATF change should be done in severe interval at 45k and normal interval at 95k. Since I baby my car i'd say i'm right in between

Well today I got the job done, I did not do a flush I just did a drain and fill and I have a few questions about what i've done.

I drained at cold temp and got about 4.5 quarts out. I replaced with exactly 4 quarts of Dex VI from Castrol - so I am at a loss of about .5

I did not check overfill plug because I didn't want to, why? Because what I got drained out was exactly what I put back in (a little less obviously)

The vehicle takes 9 quarts on a complete flush so that means there is only a little under 50% new fluid so now I ask:

1. Was it worth replacing only about 50% fluid - will it still help even though the other dirty 5qts will dilute the new fluid?
2. Will there be any problems because I am missing .5 quarts? (I can add back in if needed)
3. How long until I need to do a drain and fill again?

Thanks for reading

Replacing bulb troubles

I just found an old pair of ZXE's I was gonna put into the cruze until I decide to order up some LED's. Unfortunately this is my first car newer than 2000 and having some problems.

I took apart the stock tubing on the passenger side to get at the dust cover, managed to get it off and then couldn't figure out how to get the bulb out. I don't have the smallest hands so it was a bit tight but my question is do I need to remove the silver ring holding in the bulb or should I be able to pop it out without removing it? Didn't want to force anything too hard but couldn't even pop off the connector to the bulb from the angle I was at.

Crankshaft Seal Replacement Write-up

Hey everyone,

A few months ago (~109,000 miles) i found my turbo oil feed line to be leaking in the usual spot so i replaced it along with my water outlet and overflow hose while i was there. I also had an issue with my TBPS so i replaced the whole intake manifold with new throttle body + fuel rail the hole shebang. To address some very minor seepage, i also replaced the two cam seals. problemo solved.

Fast forward to today (112,000 miles) i still have had some very faint oil burning smells (with no noticeable loss in volume) so i decided to put some dye in my oil to trace the source of the leak. The only place i have found any residue, after about 300 miles of driving, is in the area immediately around the crankshaft pulley leading me to believe this could be the culprit. This being said, i have not found too much on replacing the seal. Ordered it today for $10 on amazon. I found 1 video on youtube of a guy with a sonic and it appears you do not need a puller to get the pulley off. Anyone run through this routine yet and have some lessons learned ?

Thanks,
Phil

Driver side door lock failure

Hi, recently my front driver side door lock no longer locks or unlocks electronically. If I press the button on the dash or remote, I hear a feint grind or moaning noise. As I was looking online it appears to be my door actuator. Does this sound correct? If so, how hard would it be to replace? I was looking at parts and found part #931-314 at autozone. Is that the only thing I would need? The door still functions with the key and pulling the handle, just not electronically. I have a 2013 Chevy Cruze 1LT RS.

I have a 2016 Cruze lt and I only have 5k miles in it but today my check engine light came on , that is way too early for a new car. My question is what could trigger it so early ? Going to the dealer in the morning and we see .

Well I was planning on doing a big write up on the first 100k in my diesel. I was all excited about how little maintenance it required and how reliable it has been. I am still excited about all of that, but it seems mine is not a unique story. Several other members have over 100k miles with very few repair visits to the dealer.

It still felt like I reached a milestone this morning when the odometer clicked over to 6-digits though. Car is still going strong with the original tires, brakes, battery and air filter. The fuel filter has been changed twice and I've only had to put fuel in the tank three times! Kidding.

I bought the car knowing is was an entry-level economy car, but from day one it has impressed me with every aspect of ownership. I am actually proud of these little cars and tell every who will listen about it. .

Replacing 2011 Cruze cloth seats with 2012 Cruze Leather Seats.

Hello all! This is my first time ever posting on a forum. I was wondering if there's a chance that I could change my 2011 Cruze Cloth seats with 2012 Leather seats that have power and heat? My car is a 2011 Chevy Cruze LS and I found a 2012 Chevy Cruze that was in an accident with leather seats. The seats are in great condition. The post says that it's for 2012-2016 Chevy Cruze's. I'm trying to figure if the interior changed that much from 2011 to 2012 models where the seats will not fit or something. If anyone has an info on this or may have done something like this, please let me know. Thanks in advance!

backup camera - strange question

Have had my 2017 LS for 2 months. This past week I've had the odd feeling that the image shown with the rear backup camera has gotten smaller. I could swear that on the top of the image I could just see a sliver of the trunk edge, and on the bottom there was just also a sliver of the bumper area. Recently, about 1" of the bottom of the image is just the bumper/license plate. My first assumption was that the camera was somehow loose and got "pushed in" a little bit somehow. But I've held on to it and tried to pull/push/wiggle it and it's in there solid. Next thought was perhaps there's some sort of adjustment in the settings to somewhat expand/contract the image shown, but I wasn't able to find anything like that. So now I'm thinking maybe I'm just nuts. Anyway, was wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this as well.
